Obituary

Mark Roger Gansler passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 near his home in Bellingham. Mark was born in Bellingham on December 28, 1963, to Pat (Anderson) and Marvin Gansler. He lived in Whatcom county most of his life.

Mark enjoyed the simple things in life-the sound of birds, the feel of the wind on his face. He taught us to slow down and notice and enjoy these things. Mark had a strong faith in the Lord; he touched many lives, and was loved by all who knew him. By giving the gift of being an organ and tissue donor, Mark will continue to touch the lives of many people.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Floyd and Vera Anderson of Sumas, and Elver and Alma Gansler of Everson, and his stepdad Ray Otten. Mark leaves behind his mom, Pat Fuller and her husband Gary of Post Falls, ID; dad Marvin Gansler of Everson; sister Mari Walker and husband Craig of Hayden, ID; brother Hung Gansler and wife Cindy of Bellingham; nieces Rachel and Sara Walker of Hayden, ID; nephews, Troy and Jesse Gansler of Bellingham; aunts and uncles, Roger and Kim Anderson of Everson, Charlotte and Warren Jensen of Oak Harbor, Sally Pagh of Anacortes, Don Gansler of Everson, Neil and Pat Gansler of Longview; numerous cousins; the staff at Evergreen Supported Living; his special friends from Evergreen Supported Living; and many loving friends.

  2. Mari and Pat, I am so sorry for your loss. I never knew Mark, but had heard so many wonderful things about him. My thoughts and prayers are with you, especially at the time.

  3. Pat and Mari: How saddened I was to read of Mark’s passing (and to have Marv telling us at Hope Lutheran Sunday morn). Mark was in our midst for quite a few years, a very special young man, to be sure. My thoughts and prayers to all your families. Glenda Miller

  4. Mari and Pat, I’m so sorry for your loss. As a child, I remember coming to visit you Mari and being welcomed by Mark’s calm presence. You are all in my thoughts now. -Beverly

  5. Pat & Mari, I am so sorry to hear of Marks passing almost a year afterwards. I remember playing with Mark and Mari as a young child. My parents are Rich & Susan Copner.. We just lost my dad last December so I know the pain you are feeling when you lose a loved one. May the lord bless you. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
