Mert,You were and still are a special person in my life! I’m forever grateful to have been a part of your life and will cherish the memories i have of you.
Your quick wit and knowledge was an inspiration to me and i valued your advise when i had questions. I will miss the great conversations on life we had and for sure the great meals you cooked. Even though we shared differences when it came to football. I looked forward to your opinion on my team the Raiders and relished when my team beat yours. However you never rubbed it in when my team lost.

Your family is a testament to you and your values. Your Husband Jim is a one of kind person who was so dedicated to you. Your Daughter Fawn is wonderful soul who was steadfast and a solid rock in your time of need. Your Grandchildren Jennifer, Lindsey, Erika were so appreciative of you and were always there for you when needed. Elliot, Keith, and Chad were there always to support them. Your Great Grandchildren were fortunate to have you as their Mimi and will have memories of you to cherish.

I loved you Mert and always will and i know someday in heaven when the Raiders win the Super Bowl you’ll be cheering for the Silver And Black and saying congratulations Bert!!

    May God Bless Your Soul
    Rest In Peace Mert

    Love Bob

Jim and Fawn and family,Mertel as i called her for years was a very special person to me and my family. She was always upbeat and happy and full of wit.Every time i saw her she would always ask, “What are you and that darn council up too now? you better whip them into shape” She always called me Jeanne and the last time i saw her she said i love you. I loved her too she was a great lady full of life. We had a littlecontest every time Bellingham and Ferndale played a high school football game. When Ferndale won which was most of the time she would always ask me with a
smile on her face,”Just what was the final score of the game” Then a big chuckle.
Mertel will be missed by a lot of people but memories of her will last forever. All i
can say now is “SLEEP MY SISTER MAY PEACE BE WITH YOU” Love Gene &
    Jan.
