Obituary

Marie Julianna Lentsch died May 18, 2023, in Bellingham, WA, after a long journey through Alzheimer’s Disease.

Marie was born November 20, 1926, in Brooklyn, NY, and grew up in Richmond Hill, Queens. She spent her entire career with McKesson as an accounting clerk.

In 1973, she relocated with her company and her niece Susan to the Bay Area where she lived the next 42 years of her life in Concord, CA.

Not one to stay at home, after retirement, she started her second career as a hospital volunteer extraordinaire at John Muir Health. Marie was active in Catholic Daughters and St. Francis of Assisi Church. She retired from hospital volunteering after more than 17,500 hours served, at the age of 87.

Later, she moved to Bellingham, WA. Although devastating, Marie retained her sweet and sunny personality as her disease progressed and especially loved the animals who lived in her memory care home and those that came to visit.

Marie was preceded in death by her mother Amelia, father Frank, and brother Frank (Arlene).

She is survived by her sister Emilie (John), brother Ralph (Doris), and best friend Huguette Dickson, along with numerous nieces and nephews who dearly loved their aunt Marie.

A friend to all, Marie was a kind, generous, and loving person and who will be missed by friends and family coast-to-coast.
