Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Maria Bergley announces her passing after a hard-fought battle with metastatic breast cancer, on Friday, September 15, 2017 at the young age of 53, surrounded by her loved ones.

Maria will be lovingly remembered by her husband and best friend of 38 years, Wade, and her precious sons, William (Katie), and James (Emily). Maria will also be forever remembered by her three grandchildren, Katherine, Maria, and Marcus, and her siblings, Frank Tistle and Sherri Casarez. Maria was predeceased by her father, William Tistle, and her mother, Mary Bergley. Maria will be remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and dear friends.

Maria loved her family with a passion. She loved the Lord with all she had. One of Maria’s final requests was to forgo a memorial service. The family asks that you give prayers and grace to one another through these tough times. She lived life to the fullest and touched so many lives. Her favorite bible verse was Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God” and she trusted that will all her heart.

  1. My sympathy goes out to the family of Maria…especially to her sister Sherrie. It has to be hard to lose someone so loving at a young age. I will pay my respect to her by following her favorite verse…I will be still and know that God is God…and in Him we find our comfort and our will to go on. That is what Maria would want. We can only imagine the joy she is having in the presence of her loving Lord. Peace be with all of you!

  3. Praying for Peace and comfort that comes from our Heavenly Father to wrap each of you in his arms and ease your pain. Maria was such an inspiration to all who knew her and will truly be missed. But remember this is not the end..because of her faith she has made it to the promised land and is free from pain and rejoicing in Heaven and what a glorious day it will be when you reunite with her. We will be praying for continued comfort from our Heavenly Father for all of you. The James Family – Texas
