Obituary

Peggy O’Neill passed away September 26, 2015 in Bellingham. She was born January 9, 1924 to James and Marguerite Gunn in Providence, Rhode Island. She attended San Mateo Junior College and worked as a secretary and office manager. Peggy married Hugh O’Neill on June 18, 1949 in Rhode Island. They spent the last 66 years together and brought 5 wonderful children into this world.

Peggy loved cooking, telling stories, drawing, spending time with family, playing make-believe with her grandchildren, going out to eat, watching tv, and holding babies.

She had a wonderful sense of humor and a vivid imagination. She was strong, stubborn, beautiful, smart, caring and faithful to God. Peggy had a huge heart and always made sure you felt happy, safe and warm while in her company.

Her family will miss her love, compliments, meatballs and sauce, chicken noodle soup, mish-mash, corn beef hash, potato salad, her advice, and her laugh.

Peggy is now dancing in Heaven with the God she dearly loved.

She is survived by her husband Hugh O’Neill; sons Jim and Bill O’Neill; daughters Mary Simcock, Barbara Wilson, and Joan O’Neill; sister Mary Haney; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister Barbara Morrison and brother in law William Haney.

A Public Visitation will be held at 2465 Lakeway Dr., Bellingham on Wednesday, Sept. 30th from 7-9:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at Assumption Church in Bellingham on Thursday, Oct. 1st at 10:30am with a Graveside Service to follow at Greenacres Memorial Park, 5700 Northwest Dr., Ferndale. A reception will follow the Graveside at Greenacres Chapel.
