Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce that Margaret (Greta) passed away on Friday, August 14, 2015. Margaret resided in the Christian Health Care Center in Lynden for 8 months where she bravely battled cancer. She remained positive always and endeared herself to the amazing care givers, she so loved, trusted and appreciated.

Margaret loved life, people and all animals. She especially loved her cat Olive, who has settled into her new home in Canada with her dog friend Beau.

A Celebration of Life will be held on October 10, 2015, Margaret’s 80th birthday. For those interested in attending, please e-mail Jeanette at jjmridge@telus.net or telephone (604) 463-2578.

Further details will be shared when arrangements are finalized.

For those wishing to contribute to a Memorial we recommend any foundation relating to the care of animals.

We are very grateful to everyone who supported Margaret, her family, and friends through this difficult time.

  1. Margaret it was a pleasure to know you. I will remember with fondness when we met in New York 10 years ago. Little did we know it was the last time that we would see you. We had a great time. Winnie, Jocelyn, Issy, you and me.
I have known you since I was a young teen and have fond memories of you and Maurice, my big brother.

    You are now at peace.

    All our love

  2. I only met Margaret for the first time a few years ago when I visited my brother Richard and Jeanette in Canada . I cherish the memory of our little chats . She was so positive and as 2 cat lovers we had something in common , plus , of course her love for her family in Canada and Scotland .
It is a measure of Margatet’s happy disposition that she received quality support from family during the sad period of her illness in particular .

So pleased that she is now at peace .

“RIP, my beautiful friend, I will miss you always.
My deepest sympathy to all your family in Canada, it is a big loss for you. We all can only hope it was a blessing for Margaret, nobody wanted her to suffer, she was too gentle person to go through with such
    awful illness.

I will never forget the kindness of Margaret and Maury .

  4. Scarlett, Hector and I are so saddened by this loss. Greta has been like a mother/grandmother to us, accompanying us on our family vacations and holidays, revelling in our successes and encouraging us through our challenges. She was in the hospital with us when Scarlett was born, and we were thankfully able to visit her in the hospital shortly before she passed. I know Scarlett will have the best memories of her Grammy Greta. We are so blessed to have known this lovely lady.
She was a true inspiration to me – showing me how to never give up, despite difficult circumstances. She helped me raise my CCI puppies, and later, helped me raise Scarlett too. No one could have been sweeter.

Jeanette, Iain, Elma, Alfred, and the rest of the Taylor clan, our deepest sympathies and our heartfelt love always.
