Obituary

Marcella was born in Bellingham to Sidney Phair Sr. and Rosemary Scott. She attended UCLA and NW Indian College and worked at Williams International and for the Whatcom County Auditor’s office.

Marcella loved giving her time to the Tree of Life, Ladies in Black, and the Chief Seattle Club. She was also successful in creating the Native AA Conferences. A creative soul, Marcella enjoyed sewing, beading, and leather working. She shared her vast knowledge of Native arts, crafts, and events with everyone she could. We will miss her beautiful smile, her jokes that made everyone laugh, and the way she helped those less fortunate than herself.

She was predeceased by her parents; and siblings, Wanda Phair, Sidney Phair Jr., Gerald Phair I, and Louise Solomon.

Survivors include her children, Gerald Phair, Nora Gomez, Nick Castillo, and Elvis Castillo; siblings, Lucille Spencer, Diane Phair, Shelia Phair, Cindy Phair, and Clarence Phair; and eight grandchildren.

Prayer service will be 6PM on Tuesday, 8/6, and funeral service will be 10AM on Wednesday, 8/7 – all at Wexliem Community Building.
