Obituary

Magnar “John” Iversen, 94, went to play golf once again on Friday, April 7, 2017. A lifetime resident of Whatcom County, he proudly served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Mount Olympus during WWII. He retired as a Bread Truck Driver for Gai’s/Franz. He was an avid golfer, adored road trips with his wife, loved his Bellingham Red Raiders, John Wayne movies, reading western and military novels, playing cribbage, and eating licorice and Whitmans Chocolates.
He leaves his beloved wife of 72 wonderful years, Dorothy Iversen; son, Barry Iversen; daughter, Carol (Larry) Werle; grandchildren, Jennifer Iversen, Michelle Newton, Amy Iversen, Kevin Iversen, and Shaun Werle. Also, eight cherished great-grandchildren.
