Obituary

Maebelle Symchyck (Doane), age 87, passed away April 3, 2017 in Bellingham, WA. Maebelle was born in Ferndale to Howard and Clemmie Doane on March 3, 1930. After graduating from Ferndale High School in 1948, she married Walter Symchyck and enjoyed nearly 50 years together as husband and wife. For 19 of those years, Maebelle worked at Norbell Nursing Home, sharing her loving and compassionate nature with both staff and residents. She also enjoyed flower gardening.

Maebelle leaves behind her husband, Walter Symchyck, sisters Jean Medlin, Donna Espinoza, brother Wayne Doane, nieces Holly Anderson, Sheryl Sugita, Nicole Zamora, and nephews Brett Medlin, Leaf Doane, Eric Doane, and numerous cousins.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 7, 2pm at Moles Farewell Tributes Greenacres, 5700 Northwest Dr. Ferndale. Donations can be made to The Bellingham Food Bank.
