Obituary

Duane Gwinner, 81, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on June 4th, 2025. Duane was born on September 20th, 1943, to Melvin and Lois Gwinner in Bellingham WA.

Duane graduated from Kittitas High School in 1962 and from there served in the Navy from 1964-1968. Duane married the love of his life on October 7th, 1977. He enjoyed spending his time hunting, snowmobiling, fishing and spending time on Waldron Island and in Metaline, WA with his family. Duane was also a member of the Fun City 4×4 Off-roading Club.

Duane got his millwright and from there worked at Intalco for 26 years. After that he worked in the fishing industry and in 2001 he opened Sound Ocean Metal Fabricators until he retired in 2017.

He is proceeded in death by his wife Marvette, mother Lois and father Melvin, and sister Donna. He is survived by son Tom (Shannon) Gwinner, daughters Melissa (Mike) Warhola, and Joliene (Greg) Egger. Grandchildren Megan, Cassidy (Tyler) Blackwelder, Trevin, Kylee (Matthew) Munkres, and Jordyn. Great grandchildren Aleeah, Landen, and Braxton. Sister Bobbi (Walt) VanWingerden, and brother Bill (Toni) Gwinner, and many nieces and nephews.

Duane will be greatly missed and never forgotten by his family and friends. A graveside service will be held Thursday June 12th at 2:00pm, Greenacres Memorial Park, 5700 Northwest Drive, Ferndale WA 98248

    Always loved this beer throne picture of Duane even have my own copy of it and sat on the thrine once myself! Always thought of him as the brother I never had when remembering the great time we had over our younger years growing up ! May he rest in peace with his other family !
