Obituary
LuWilla Cliffene Croy, “Aunt Lu”, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family’s love on Friday, April 24, 2015. She was 86. Born May 18, 1928, in Puyallup, WA, LuWilla was a good student that worked hard on her studies earning her valedictorian status in high school and top five percent of her graduating class at the University of Washington. She earned a business degree and went on to work as a C.P.A. She honed her craft earning partner at Metcalf Hodges until she finally retired at the young age of 75. In the meanwhile, LuWilla was a UW Husky through and through, holding season football tickets and supporting as a booster for over 50 years. LuWilla may have been a Puyallup girl at the beginning however, after meeting her husband, Wallace Croy, in hardware store and then upon his return from the US Navy during WWII, they quickly took up residence in Bellingham, WA where they resided and were happily married for over 65 years. Her favorite things were feeding the animals (any animals that would eat what she was providing), watching birds, traveling annually to Hawaii, reading, working, and being a loving wife to her husband. LuWilla was very involved in many charities and organizations, at one point heading up the Soroptimist Group which helped to improve the lives of women and girls in the Bellingham community. LuWilla is survived by her caring family and friends. A service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 29th at the Bayview Cemetery in Bellingham, WA.
