Obituary

Lucille Jean John (Beama), Pul-x-wit-siud, age 66, of Bellingham, WA, passed away on Friday March 18, 2016. Lucy was well known for her beadwork, traveling to Bingo Halls, shopping – dressed up everyday, traveling around to sing blessing songs, traveling with Father Pat Twohy for Catholic events, and traveling to stick game tournaments with family. She was a bus driver for the Lummi Middle School (1983-1984), and a cultural teacher.

She is predeceased by parents Isadore Tom Sr., and Laura (Jackson) Tom, as well as her siblings Nancy Tom, Beverly Tom, Janice Edwards, and Alvin Tom.

Survivors include her husband Ernest John Sr. (Bampa), her two children Ester John and Ernest John Jr., and her siblings Isadore Tom Jr., Loreen Lawrence, Geraldine “Geri” Bill, Vivian George, Loretta Tom, and grandchildren Juanita John and Julie Lane.

A prayer service will be held Monday March 21, 2016 at 6pm, and a Funeral Mass on Tuesday March 22, 2016 at 10am. Both services will be at the Lummi Community Building: Wex li em. Final resting place is Lummi Nation Cemetery.
