Obituary

Lorraine P. Kirk will be missed by many, especially her cats, whom were a huge priority in her life. She loved spending time with her family for the “big” holidays, the extended family would get together; pleasant times having picnics, dinners, parties and other family functions will be thought of fondly.

Lorraine loved working in her flowerbeds. In her later years, she could be found on the patio reading, or watching the birds and squirrels in the backyard. She enjoyed helping her neighborhood as well. She served as the Secretary for the Whatcom Symphony Orchestra as well as the Cornwall Park Neighborhood Assoc. In her spare time, she even acted as Block Watch Captain for her community.

Before she retired, Lorraine prized her time with bowling teams with friends and co-workers. This served as a fun break from her many hard years of work in the banking industry. She will be remembered for her dedication to National Bank of Commerce, Rainier Bank, Bank of Bellingham and Bank of America.

After retirement, she kept in touch with “Birthday Lunches”, always looking forward to the next outing with her friends, to catch up. Her caring heart, and giving attitude shined through in the way she put others before herself.

She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Kirk, her father Nels Nelseon, mother Clara Carlson and step-father Henry Carlson.

Lorraine is survived by her son Randy of Bellingham, cousins Marlene of Bellingham and Diane of Birch Bay.

In lieu of flowers, please continue her giving spirit by donating to Whatcom Humane Society or American Diabetes Association.

A celebration of her full life will be held on Friday January 19th, at 11 am at Moles Farewell Tributes, Ferndale, 2039 Main Street Ferndale.
