Obituary

Our wonderful mother, Lorraine, passed away peacefully at home, after a brief illness.

She was born Lorraine Marie Gallant, in Rosaireville New Brunswick Canada, the middle child in a large French Canadian family. She met her soul mate, Raymond Drew, at her sister Alines wedding to his brother Dick. After a two year long-distance romance, they were married and began their family.

As Ray was enlisted in the US Air Force, they traveled over 20 years, raising their four children around the world. They settled in Bellingham in 1980. Lorraine worked in Bellingham and Ferndale as a caregiver until her stroke in 2008. She enjoyed dancing, playing scrabble, a few minutes at the casino, and her family above all. She was very active in St Joseph Parish and the Bellingham American Legion.

She is survived by her beloved husband Ray, children Kelsey, Jackie, Kevin and Brian, their spouses, grandchildren Heather, Jordan, Paul, Jennifer, Sara, Emily, Zak, and Sammy (and their spouses), and four Great Grandchildren. Mom was someone who really loved her extension of brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends. She talked with everyone she could, every day.

She never gave up on anyone, and if she saw the worst, she only noticed the best in us. We will forever feel her support and unconditional love. .

My husband and I would like to express our sincere condolences to the family and friends of your dearly loved Lorraine. May you draw comfort in the words found in Psalm 34:18. “Jehovah is near to those broken at heart and to those crushed in spirit he saves. May you also draw comfort in the many wonderful experiences you all made and shared together, cherish them in your hearts always, and her memory will live on in each and every one of you.
