Obituary
Lorraine Ellen Quiram was born on May 23, 1925 in Bellingham, Washington, to Gilbert and Marie Barr. She attended school in Bellingham and graduated Bellingham High School in 1943, and then attended college and worked locally. She then met and married Bernie Quiram on June 1, 1958.
In the late 60’s she began working at the Fisher Elementary School in Lynden, Washington, as the “lunch lady” and continued working there for the next 26 years. She enjoyed this work very much, and the children could never remember her name so she told them all to just call her “grandma”. Even after she retired, folks would come up to her and remembered her as “grandma”.
After she retired she enjoyed spending time gardening, quilting, and doing needlework. She passed away peacefully on February 13, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernie, who passed away on November 30, 2012. She is survived by her children, Don Bailey, Tim Quiram, Tammy Quiram- Schinske, and Teresa Williams; her four grandchildren, Al, Erin, Shannon and Tegan; and her great granddaughter Karmen.
The family would like to thank all her caregivers who took such great care of her, and also the Hospice nurses who made her final days comfortable.

Dear Tim and the rest of the family–so sorry about your loss. your mom was so special in many ways–even near the end when I was able to talk to her on the phone and visited her.–She helped out our charity(Helping Hands for Babies) with beautiful crocheted baby sweater outfits–she had so many talents–and was loved by so many-. May God Bless her now with peace and rest. Love, your next door neighbor from years ago–Elaine Hamstra Nyhoff
