Loretta’s Story

-Loretta was born in 1938 in California. Her biological parents are unknown.
-Little was said about the first six years of her life other than she was in and out of orphanages.
-At age 6, she was adopted by Kristian and Ada Rokkjar of Sedro Woolley.
-At 18, she met and married Walter Rohde and in 1957, a son Leroy was born.
-From 1957 until 1977, she lived on the Noon Road in Whatcom County.
-During those years, son Larry Ross was born but passed away at the age of eight.
-Another son John Paul was born but also passed shortly thereafter.
-In 1977, after the passing of Ada, Loretta returned to the home on Warner Street in Sedro Woolley.
-She enjoyed her cats, and grew beautiful irises, especially purple ones.
-The last five years of her life were spent in the Life Care Center of Sedro Woolley.
-She passed in the early hours of July 2nd, and now free from pain and is with those whom she loved.
-Loretta is survived by son Leroy (Maryann); five granddaughters: Kristen (Jon), Kaitlin (Josh), Karin (James), Kyla, and Kendra (Dennis); and 7 great-grandchildren (Ingrid, Atticus, Leif, Emilia, Arne, Ira and Janelle).
