Obituary

Lois Elizabeth Sewell Petersen left this life and entered her eternal home on Tuesday, July 6, 2021.  She was born April 25, 1923 in Brainerd, Minnesota and married the love her life, Donald Winston Petersen on August 14, 1951. They made their home first in Iowa, then South Dakota, and finally in Washington, living both in Tacoma and Bellingham.  Lois loved her Lord, her husband, and her three daughters and their families, and spent her life caring for them. She enjoyed watercolor painting, reading, and loving the many people in her life. She will be remembered for her hospitality and her delightful tea parties.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Petersen in June of 2008 and her granddaughter, Lesley Rae Wilkerson in 1978. She leaves behind three daughters: Sally Wilkerson (Jack) of Advance, North Carolina, Bonnie Potts (Timothy) of Bellingham, and Jean Anderson (Ron) of Tupelo, MS, ten grandchildren: Stephanie Yoder, Kelli Polon, Amy Dazzo, Colin Potts, Ethan Potts, Jenni Potts, Christine Hellums, Erin Anderson, Steven Anderson, and Timothy Anderson, seventeen great-grandchildren, and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, July 25th at 1:00 P.M. at Baker Creek Bible Church – 3920 James St. Bellingham. Refreshments and fellowship to follow.
