Obituary

In great sorrow we announce the passing of Litave “Lita” Marcos. Lita graciously met her heavenly Father on June 1, 2022, after a courageous fight against cancer at home surrounded by loved ones.

Born to Ceferino and Monica on June 19, 1958, in San Manuel, Tarlac, Philippines, Lita was adored tremendously by her many brothers and sisters. At a young age she knew she wanted to be an educator and pursued her BA. Lita became an elementary school teacher until she moved to Singapore to be a nanny in 1984. In 1988, Lita, wanting to continue her growth in helping families and children, relocated to Vancouver, Canada where she continued her career as a nanny.

In 1989, Lita met the love of her life, Rene Marcos. They were married on October 19, 1991. Their love for one another was and continues to be unbreakable and Lita found great comfort in Rene’s care as she faced cancer. Recently, they were able to renew their vows and be blessed under the eyes of God in Holy Matrimony so that their bond may never be severed.

After welcoming their sons Christopher and Oliver they made their home in Bellingham, WA in 1994. It was in these years that Lita used her gift as a natural caregiver to become the most loving mother to her sons and husband. Her happiest moments were those of watching Chris and Oliver grow to be the wonderful people they are today. It was through her nurturing heart, her steadfast patience, and unwavering dedication that their family grew so strong, and their home was filled with so much love. Some of Lita’s most treasured memories were made while traveling and camping with Rene, Chris and Oliver and extended family. Visiting the Oregon Coast, visiting family in the Philippines, experiencing the open road to Las Vegas and California were some highlights.

This love extended outside of their family home and Lita touched many people’s lives with her kindness. She had many friends and loved ones that we know she loved and often included them in daily prayers and blessings. She was a hard worker and after her sons were in school, she returned to work for Alpha Technology as an assembler. Here she made many lasting friendships.

Lita is survived by her husband, Rene, sons Christopher and Oliver (Sheylin), stepchildren Melanie (Emilie) and Nikolas (Terra). She leaves behind many sisters and brothers, nieces and nephews, all who hold Lita close to their hearts. She is greeted in heaven by her parents Ceferino and Monica and sister, Lawag.

Lita was dedicated to her Savior, Jesus Christ and led a faithful life even more so in the face of adversity, relying heavily on prayer and faith for healing and gratitude. Her message was always to share kindness, to be forgiving and tell those around you that you love them. She will be dearly missed. We love you.
