Obituary
Lisa was born in Seattle, WA, to Michelle Opel and Lawrence Bolson. She was a gardener, activist, lover of nature and a musician. In the 90’s, she was introduced as “Patty Melt” in the retro-rock band “Clambake”. Lisa loved, supported and was a patron of all genres of music, theater and the arts. She loved to go to concerts and festivals, was giving and had a passion for life. She helped others through their struggles and then needed help herself. A big thanks to all that supported her.
Lisa loved all things vintage, studied Native American culture and helped her mother and sister create “Prudent Penny” and later “With Wild Abandon.” She also worked at “Aladdin’s Antiques” and had a vast knowledge of antiques and music. Lisa moved to Seattle for a while and surrounded herself with loving like-minded friends to work and play with. We were lucky enough to have her move back to Bellingham where she thrived for many years. She has left behind a great deal of friends, both in Seattle and Bellingham.
Lisa was a hard worker and most recently worked for Habitat for Humanity, which was in line with her beliefs of helping others. She also worked with her sister at Aladdin’s Antiques and Records, where her knowledge of antiques, collectibles and music helped immensely. Lisa enjoyed cooking, gardening and being in nature. She liked to be fit and active and commuted to work by bicycle. Lisa was a beautiful free spirit: may her spirit soar free. The life she lived is an inspiration to those who got to know and love her.
She was preceded in death by her uncle Bruce Opel. She is survived by her mother Michelle Opel, sister Lainie Bolson, father figure Dan Crawford, father Larry and stepmom Barb, two stepbrothers: Ian (Sarah), Nigel (Brynne), and nieces Shay, Morgan and Haley. A Memorial Service will take place in February; the date is to be determined.

I will always remember Lisa as a kind an loving person. Our little crew going to The Prudent Penny, and hanging out with her mom. We were always together, doing what we wanted, exploring the world as we knew it. I saw Lisa a few years back when she lived next to my sister. We picked up like we had seen each other the day before. I will miss you Lisa, and I wish you peace.

I was saddened to learn about Lisa’s passing. Lisa used to devote her time as a volunteer with us at the Wise Buys thrift store benefiting Lydia Place. She used to be a regular customer who could spot sterling silver jewelry from across the room! She had such an eye for it. I was delighted when she said she wanted to volunteer with us. She was such a great addition to the team and everyone enjoyed working with her. I am grateful for having known and worked with her. Such a bright spirit! My condolences to her family.

Rest In Peace Lisa Bolson. I did not know you but I will say a prayer for you every time I walk through Boulevard Park, near the beach I saw you last. Heartfelt condolences to your family and friends. Like my son, you will never be forgotten.
