Obituary
Lawrie Leigh Ochoa, age 57, of Ferndale, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2020. She was born on March 17, 1962 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Lawrie was raised in Idaho then moved to Hawaii where she spent most of her adult life before moving to Washington. She married Mary Ochoa on September 22, 2018 in Bellingham. Lawrie was a true Entrepreneur at heart. She owned several businesses including a snorkel and scuba shop, bookstore, apparel line, fishing tackle store, sandwich shop, waterbed store and antique and collectible business. Lawrie was adventurous, fearless, brave, had a great sense of humor, full of life, kindhearted, protective, lifelong learner who had a gorgeous smile. She had a long list of things she loved to do which included fishing, scuba diving, swimming, kayaking, sailing, surfing, skiing, cliff diving and going to car shows. She was also an artist and violinist. She is survived by her wife Mary Ochoa; father Don Monroe; children, Jessica Cooley, Candy Blackman and Michael Beebe; siblings Tamerlene Yee, Holly Dian, Mark Monroe, Tatiana Harrison; and numerous grandchildren. Lawrie is preceded in death by her mother Marion Monroe and brothers Peter Mark and David Monroe.

Lawrie was one of those people who left an everlasting imprint when she touched you. Lawrie will always be my best friend. Wishing her wife, children and grandchildren peace during this difficult time. Love to you all.

Oh my God, to know this is heartbreaking!
Hang in there all were at close to her and her most beautiful but Dazed and shattered family without this Loved One up in Heaven among the Throne of Our welcomed , Newborn King, Jesus Christ forever , In Loving Memory, Amen!

Just heard today that Laurie had passed away last year. I hope that her family finds peace as time goes on. We were friends in junior high and high school.
