Obituary

Larry LaFreniere passed away on July 1, 2021, in Ferndale, WA.

Larry was born on June 9, 1954, in Bellingham to Joseph and Margaret LaFreniere. He was an Eagle Scout in school and graduated in 1972. Larry took an Auto Body course in Tech School, and over the years he was a Mailroom Supervisor for The Herald and also worked at Journal American in Bellevue.

He enjoyed collecting comics, watching Alf and wrestling matches, and also loved crossword puzzles.

He is predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Margaret LaFreniere; brothers Richard and Ronald LaFreniere; and sister Beverly Borg.

Larry is survived by his nephews, Mike Jordan, Mark Jordan, and Dave Borg; nieces Ronda Arntzen, Debbie Vervalen; cousins Bill Clement, Ken Clement, Myrna Butenschoen, and Carol (Harold) Thomas; grandniece Megan Jordan; and grandnephews Thomas Arntzen and Adam Arntzen.

Larry was laid to rest during a private service at Enterprise Cemetery in Ferndale.

    I knew Larry while working at The Bellingham Herald for 8 years. I was in the Art Department then in Sales. My son. Gary who was in high school at the time worked with Larry in the Distribution area in the basement.
    Larry was a very nice guy and a hard worker. I am saddened to hear of his passing. His sense of humor was contagious. We both liked him a lot.
