Kristin Gayle Grace of Lynden passed away Sunday, October 13, 2013 in Bellingham. She was born in Tacoma, Washington on October 28, 1946 to James H. and Edna C. Oxley who preceded her in death.

She taught elementary grades in the Ferndale school district for 31 years, retiring November 1, 2001. Kristins activities and interests were many and varied. She was a member of St. Pauls Episcopal Church, the church Guild, Emblem Club #489 of Bellingham Elks Club #194, and the Antique Automobile Restorers Club of Bellingham. She was also a participant and judge of Whatcom in Bloom as well as a member of Washington Educational Retirees Association. In an addition to flowers, she was also a lover of cats.

Survivors include her husband of 46 years, William Alan Grace; sisters Sharon P. Hestdalen, Cynda M. and husband Frank Webb, sister-in-law Carol and husband Lee Abbott, Betty Grace-Mann and husband Bob Mann, 6 nephews and 5 nieces.

Farewell Tribute Information

Memorial service will be held Saturday, November 23 at 2:00pm at St. Pauls Episcopal Church, 2117 Walnut St. in Bellingham. Donations Information

Memorials may be directed to the Elks National Foundation.

  1. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Bill in the passing of Kris your love for life. No doubt there will be a whole in your hear until you meet again. Cherish the wonderful memories you made together during your 46 years of marriage and your years of dating before then. You were a wonder husband and friend to Kris. Take care.

  2. I was a colleague of Kris’ for a few years at North Bellingham. At that time, I was the youngster on the team, and she was a seasoned veteran. Her service to children is not forgotten. Thoughts of healing and comfort are extended to you.
