Kermit Joseph James was born on March 15, 1954 in Seattle, WA to Corinna Pettis and William Haskell James. Kermit passed away on Monday, December 4, 2023. He was a beloved brother, uncle and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Kermit was a happy-go-lucky guy and everyday was HIS birthday. He loved the Red River Band and attended numerous Stommish Festivals. His favorite past times were: playing bingo; using his artistic talents in making drums and medicine bags; pole-fishing and playing pool in local bars and teenage hang-outs. He graduated from Garfield High School in 1971 in Seattle. He lived in Seattle most of his adult life. He loved to attend local pow wows in the Seattle area and attended the Omak Stampede and other Tribal events and gatherings. He loved to pick berries when he was young (mostly berries and watermelons) in Yakima and Bainbridge Island. Kermit is survived by his sister Audrey (James) Noland, and a brother, Armour James. He is preceded in death by his mother, Corrina Pettis, father, William Haskell James, brother, Kwina James, and brother, William James. And numerous nieces and nephews. Kermit is a descendent of the Chief Henry Kwina family.

Funeral Services for Kermit James are on Monday, December 11, 2023, 10:30am at Wexliem Community Building. No burial, cremation only. Dinner following at the Wexliem.
