Obituary

Kenneth “Bud” Loomer passed away peacefully Friday morning, January 15th, at Shuksan Healthcare. He was born February 8, 1938 in Bellingham, WA to Kenneth and Bernice Loomer and was raised in North Bellingham with his three older sisters; Barbara (Anderson), Jan (Thibodeau), and Margie (Griffith).

In 1957, he graduated from Ferndale High School and joined the US Navy. After two years serving our country, he returned to Whatcom County and married Maxine Tieman in 1960. Together they had four children; Kimberly, Scott, Kent, and Pamela. “Bud” was very proud of his children, grandchildren (Melinda, Daniel, Shane, Zachary, Brewster, Alexis, Victoria, Garaline, Sahara, Sazil, and Cora-Lee) and his great grandchildren.

In 2008, he married Karen Blunt. Kenneth’s love and pride extended to his stepchildren Kimberlee and Everett, and all of his step-grandchildren (Aislinn, Polung, Mingder, and Jung), and step-great grandchildren.

Kenneth was an avid woodworker who also enjoyed fishing, camping, and remodeling numerous houses. Ken was a supervisor at Intalco Aluminum retiring after 37 years in 2001. But, by far, the most significant thing about Ken was his sense of humor. He was a great father and friend and this was felt in both his personal and professional relationships. He is pre-deceased by his parents, first wife Maxine, sister Jan, niece Sheri, and grandson Micheal.

A memorial service will be held at Christ the Servant Lutheran Church on Lakeway Drive this Wednesday, January 20th at 1pm with a reception immediately following at the Church.

I am sorry for your loss. It is difficult to deal with the loss of someone you love. 2 Corinthians 1:3,4 reminds us that God is always there to comfort us. I pray this helps you and your family.
