Obituary

Kay Weber of Ferndale, WA, age 92, passed away on Sunday, November 6th, 2022 in Bellingham.  She was born in Jamestown, NY on May 13th, 1930.  Kay was raised by Ivan and Jane Rosequist of Taos, New Mexico.

Kay received her BA in English from Arizona State University in 1952.  While waiting to be hired by TWA as a stewardess, she worked as a document librarian in Tuscon, AZ.  A young, up-and-coming Electrical Engineer for Boeing (John Weber) kept checking out drawings for the Boeing B-47 bomber program from her.  After some fun dates and traveling around the southwest, Kay and John were married on February 24th, 1954.

Kay then worked for TWA, John worked for Boeing and they moved to Seattle.  Life in Seattle was busy as Kay quit her job to have 3 boys.  As a homemaker raising 3 boys, kay had her hands full.  The family went on to travel extensively and move to Germany (for Boeing) in 1979.  After almost 5 years in Germany, they moved back to Seattle, then moved up to Fairhaven, WA where both Kay and John retired.  They enjoyed going boating, world-traveling, and attending Dixieland Jazz festivals.

Over the years, Kay was an avid quilter, gardener, and a loving/caring people-person that attended and volunteered at Grace Lutheran Church and hosted many foreign students while guiding the upbringing of 3 very energetic boys.

Finally, they moved to Ferndale where Kay attended the Ferndale Alliance Church.  The church played a big part in Kay’s life, especially after John’s passing in 2009.  Kay was laid to rest on Monday, November 21st at Greenacres Memorial Park in Ferndale, WA next to John.

Kay is survived by 3 boys:  Carl (Joanna) Weber, Patterson, LA, John (Louise) Weber, Lummi Island, WA and Bill (Kara) Weber, Albuquerque, NM.  Kay also had cousins in Trinidad, CO.

Memorials for Kay can be made to Ferndale Alliance Church, 6000 Church Rd, Ferndale, WA 98248.

  1. Kay and I had many wonderful “excursions” and “adventures” both here and abroad, by ourselves and also with our families and friends. I will treasure those memories forever and am so thankful for having had her, and her family, in my life. Rest in Peace, dear friend,.
