  1. Oh my gosh how I will miss Katy! She was one of my most reliable substitutes in my Ferndale Elementary reading classes. I loved having her sub for me so much because she was such a caring person. She would talk to me on a personal level and was so supportive! I have been moved to several elementary schools in the district and Katy would always sub for me wherever I was. My heart is broken as we need good people like Katy on earth! May you be in peace now, dear Katy. As a long time cancer survivor I fully understand and my heart goes out to her family.

Katy, we will greatly miss your friendship, your warmth, your brilliance, your kindness, your quiet and soft way of understanding. This is far too soon to have to say goodbye and it’s not fair. Our deep condolences to Chuck, Amy, Jeff, Jill, and Braden. You have lost a treasure.
