Obituary
Kathleen Mary Everett of Ferndale, Washington, passed away at home on the 22nd day of February 2016. She was born the 1st of December 1925 in Powell River, BC to David and Elizabeth Smith. A few years after completing her training at VGH in Vancouver to be a Lab Technician, she accepted a position at the County Hospital in Bellingham where she met her future husband, Dr. Norman Everett. Together, they made Ferndale their home.
Kathleen was predeceased by her husband Norman in 2006, her son Leland, and brothers Lawson and Gordon. She is survived by her daughters Peggy Everett (Shaun) and Sandra Blais (Shawn). She also leaves behind many other close relatives and long-time friends who will miss her dearly.
Kathleen was active in the community, volunteering with Hospice and the Food Bank, and was a long-standing member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She will be remembered for her willingness to work hard and to help anyone who needed a hand up, always looking for the bright side, and being a loyal friend to many. The way she lived her life with grace will be a lasting legacy in the hearts of those she touched throughout her life.
Kathleen’s final resting place is at Enterprise Cemetery in Ferndale.

I am sorry to hear of the passing of Kathleen. I remember her warmth and friendliness toward people. Leland and I used to play a lot in the neighborhood, and to see her ready smile was a blessing.
