Obituary
Katherine M. Urquhart, age 92, passed away peacefully October 4, 2012, in Bellingham, WA. She was born May 23, 1920, to Lester and Elizabeth Jones, in Bellingham. On December 13, 1941, she married Cecil J. Urquhart, and they were together for 71 years until Cec predeceased her July 16, 2012. She is survived by her son, Fred and wife Denise; son Ken and wife Claudia; grandchildren Jeremiah Holt, Chris Haven, and Erika Haven; her niece Janet Miller and husband Jim; dear friend Mike Gillis, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her sister Ethel King. After her husbands retirement from the Bellingham Fire Department, they enjoyed many years wintering in Yuma, AZ, where they enjoyed golfing, trips to Mexico, and dancing to live western music; and trailer camping and fishing on Quadra Island, B.C. where their C.B. handle was Prairie Dog. They also enjoyed many years at their summer home on Lake Samish. There was a family burial service at Bayview Cemetery on October 8th. The family wishes to thank Summit Place Assisted Living and especially Alderwood Park Convalescent Center for their compassionate care of Cec and Katherine for the past six years. The family also would like to thank April Wakefield Pagels, M.D. and Elizabeth McCrank, PAC. Please share memories of Katherine online at www.farewelltributes.com.

Please accept my sympathy to the dear Sons & all the Family & Friends in the painful loss of your dearly loved Katherine. She lived a very full & varied life & had so many adventures along the way.She will be sorely missed by all who knew & loved her.May you find a measure of comfort, hope & peace in the Bible Verses that follow. Rev21:4-5 “AND HE WILL WIPE OUT EVERY TEAR FROM THEIR EYES & DEATH WILL BE NO MORE,THE FORMER THINGS HAVE PASSED AWAY.”

We will miss our visits with Katherine and Uncle Cec. So glad Richard had the opportunity to know them. Will always remember the happy family times we were able to share.
