Obituary

Judy Ann DeMeyer, was the beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and aunt of the DeMeyer family. She especially loved to dote upon her grandchildren, who will miss her greatly.

Judy is predeceased by her parents, Waldo Anderson (2014), and mother Imogene Anderson (1994) and her sister Joan Noteboom (1995). Judy was one of 4 sisters, all of whom resided in Whatcom county.

Judy was a church going woman, whom attended Laurel Church. Her ideals of kindness and compassion were reinforced there, and shown in her ways. She loved to play cards, visit with friends, go fishing, hunt for antiques, admire old cars, and camp; central to all was friendship and family.

She is survived by: Doug DeMeyer, her husband. Keri (Mike) Swedelius, her daughter. Her grandchildren, Kai, Jet, and Rya. Her sisters Marlene (Joe) Peterson, Terri (Mike) Vossbeck. Her siblings-in-law Ron (Janet) DeMeyer, Denny (Delores) DeMeyer, Mary Ann (Al) Duncan, Bob (Marti) DeMeyer. Her nephews: Don, Darin, Scott, Luke, Justin, Jeromy, Mike, Matt and Brandon. Her nieces: Julie, Lisa, Kelli and Melanie.

It was with good fortune that Doug met, knew, married and spent 46 lovely years with his beautiful bride, Judy. They married on January 31st, 1970 in Ferndale, WA.

For thirty years, Judy showed her good nature in serving meals to students in the Ferndale School District, where she truly enjoyed the kids. Most of her career was spent at North Bellingham Elementary.

She wishes to continue her legacy of good nature and in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation in her honor.

  5. Again, so sorry for the loss of Judy, in the physical sense, she is with the family every moment of every day. Her selflessness lives on through her asking for donations to be made to Diabetic Foundation. These are dark days at the moment but the sun will shine again, you will think of Judy in those quiet moments. Judy touched many lives, more than even she knows and will continue to do so. She lives on through Keri and the grandkids, her legacy. I know for a fact her heart and mind are at ease knowing Michael will always be there for Keri and they will continue to keep her alive in their hearts and memories. God’s speed Judy.
