Obituary

Judith Lee (Jones) Simenson of Ferndale, WA, passed away on September 9, 2024, at the age of 81. Judi was born on December 8, 1942, in San Diego, CA. She graduated from Clairmont High School in 1960 and soon after married her high school sweetheart, Thomas A. Simenson, on December 11, 1960.

Judi had a deep love for life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed boating through the scenic San Juan Islands and cherished motorhome trips with her family to Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Oregon. Some of her happiest times were spent dancing at the Bellingham Yacht Club, where she and Tom were frequent attendees. Judi also found joy in teaching her children to cook and enjoyed the vibrant colors of the fall season, often taking drives to admire the changing leaves.

Judi will be remembered by her family and friends as sweet, determined, kind, and humorous. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, always working hard to ensure her children grew into kind, successful people. Her legacy lives on in her family’s fond memories of her famous spaghetti, her love for boating and dancing, and her warm hugs and caring nature.

Judi is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Thomas (Tom) Simenson; her daughter, Laura J. Simenson; her son, Jesse Simenson (Britt); and her granddaughter, Chelsea, and her husband, John Rus. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse L. and Virginia B. Jones.

Judi’s kindness, strength, and love will forever be cherished by those who knew her.
