Obituary

Jon Mayer was born in Albany, New York on July 26, 1961 to Richard and Joan Mayer. Early on, he showed a love of animals – his beloved Cindy, a black Labrador retriever. Caring for his dog grew later in life to a love of cactus plants and his turtle, Brazil – an unlikely pair of living things.

Early in his life, Jon became captivated with the Beatles – their music, their personal lives, their world-famous albums and charismatic songs like “Yellow Submarine” and “Only a Northern Song” – his favorite Beatles music.

MeTV also became very important to Jon in recent years. Here too, Jon became an expert in old-time TV shows like Gunsmoke and Gilligan’s Island. He was also a fan of Classic Rock, which he listened to all the time.

A gentle soul, well-liked by many, missed by his family and friends, Jon died on or about June 19, 2021.
