Obituary
John L. Johnston, age 83, of Ferndale, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2013. John was born in Ferndale, WA on September 15, 1929 to Jack and Gladys (Hodge) Johnston. He married Geraldine Sibley on May 9, 1952. He is survived by his daughters, Pam (Dale) Hoksbergen of Bellingham, Tami (Kent) Madsen of Ferndale, Brenda (Dale) Petersen of Bellingham and Julie Boyd of Ferndale; sisters, Mary Byrnes of Salem, Oregon, and Jean Johnston of Tucson, Arizona; brother Lynn Johnston of Buckely, WA; good friend and caregiver Mili Rauwolf of Ferndale; grandchildren, Kim (Nathan) Burke, Jodi (Collin) Murphy, Tamara Larson; and great grandchildren, Carter Norsby, Wyatt and Caden Murphy, and Cole and Mia Burke. John is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Richard and Rodger Johnston. A visitation will be Friday, May 31, 11:00 – 12:00 PM at Moles Farewell Tributes Main St. Ferndale. Graveside services will follow at 1:00 PM at Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Whatcom Hospice or Whatcom County Fire District 7.
