Obituary

John Martin Daly (AKA Jack), age 70, of Mount Vernon, passed away on December 17, 2017. He was born on October 29, 1947 in Oakland, California to Elijah and Marie (Stever) Daly. Jack served in the United States Air Force. He was outwardly a tough military guy with a very tender heart. He attended Reedly College in Fresno, California. He married Faye Coulter in Las Vegas on September 2, 1984. Jack and his family played a lot of sports together which included racquetball and biking. They enjoyed being on the ocean together and sunsets at Birch Bay. Jack was a champion swimmer in college where he was priming for the Olympics at one point. He loved camping, travelling, hockey games, attending kids’ sports, visiting and traveling with family. He also enjoyed Corvettes and automobile racing. Jack achieved one of his goals when he attained his A & P license as an Aircraft Mechanic. He loved working on engines on the big planes. He started at Fresno Jet then went to PSA and retired from US Air. Jack had a strong faith and belief in another life after death. He enjoyed getting up on Sundays to attend his church and going to breakfast after with his dear friends. Jack is survived by his wife Faye; sons, Wesley Wagner, Justus Coulter, Shammah Wagner and Brian Daly; daughters, Judith Hutchison, Fern L’Heureux and Sara Wagner; 13 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Friday, December 22, at 11:00am at Greenacres Memorial Park, 5700 Northwest Rd., Ferndale.

    We are sorry to hear of Jack’s passing on December 17th. Although I didn’t know him personally, we are saddened for the Wagner family and especially Faye. Our condolences to you all. Comforted in knowing he had a strong faith and loved by many.
