Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of John Corr.  He was an extraordinary nurse, a devoted caregiver, and a fierce advocate for patients and his fellow nurses.  After dedicating over 25 years to the nursing profession, he left an indelible mark on the lives of countless people and the healthcare community.

Born February 1, 1966, in Orange, NJ.  John had a profound passion for helping others from a young age.  He earned his associate degree in nursing from Morris County College.  He worked as an RN at hospitals in New Jersey, Maryland, and Washington State.

Throughout his career, John was not just a healer but also a mentor to many.  He inspired his colleagues with his dedication and advocacy for nurses’ rights and patient welfare.  His tireless efforts and leadership helped improve healthcare practices, making a lasting impact in ERs from Baltimore, Maryland to Bellingham, Washington.

John was known for his sense of humor, warm heart, and his ability to lift the spirits of those around him, even in the most challenging times.  His kindness extended beyond his role as a nurse; he was a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend.  Above all, he was a devoted family man.  He cherished his role as a father to his “sweet young man,” as he often referred to his son Grady.  He frequently spoke of the joy Grady brought him.  He always encouraged Grady to follow his heart.    John was also devoted to his late wife, Sharon Morey, whom he adored and whose memory he carried, a testament to the love they shared.

John is survived by his sisters, Susan Lanzafama and Patty Tindall.  Susan and her husband Michael have 5 children: Michael and his wife Autumn, Daniel and his wife Diane, Melissa and Jessica and her husband Troy.  They also had a son, Christopher, who died at age 35 years old.  They have 6 grandchildren.  John is also survived by his nieces Pam, and Christine and her husband Roger.  Nephews Steven and his wife Kristen and Tom and his wife Jeanni and his 6 grand nephews and grandnieces.

John had 2 sisters, Cathy, who died in 2006, and Lori, who died in 2020.  He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

A celebration of John Corr’s life will be held on his birthday, Saturday, February 1st, at 3 PM, at his sister Susan’s home.

In lieu of flowers, his family kindly requests that donations be made to your favorite charity in his honor.

Though he has left this world, John’s life will continue to inspire those he touched, reminding us of the profound impact one individual can have on the lives of many.
