Obituary
Jess Oswalt, age 58, passed away in Bellingham on October 10, 2017. Jess was born in Bellingham to Robert and Lois Oswalt. He graduated from Western Washington University and worked as a software engineer. Jess enjoyed reading and was a history buff. He is survived by his mother Lois Oswalt, son Dan Oswalt, daughter Melissa Oswalt, and 3 nieces/nephews. A Memorial Service will be held for Jess on Saturday October 21, 11:00am at First Christian Church, 495 E. Bakerview Rd, Bellingham, WA.

Jess and I grew up together at First Baptist Church of Bellingham. Many good memories of a lot of fun times. To his family, I hope that you find peace and comfort in knowing that Jess made a positive impact on many people. I hadn’t seen him in at least 35 years, but I had always hoped to reconnect with my old friend. His passing is a big loss. Take care.

Knowing him since we were both 3 years old, Jess was one of my oldest and closest friends. We shared a house in our early years at college and he was one of the most influential people in my life. He wore a pin button on his jacket saying “Question Authority”, advice I have always taken. Although I haven’t seen him for many years because I live in Europe, I had hoped to re-connect with him, which unfortunately will not be possible now. I loved that guy and will miss him very much.
