Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jerry McClellan, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and a successful business man who touched the lives of many. Jerry lost his battle with cancer on March 8, 2023, at the age of 74.

Jerry was born in Bellingham on September 13, 1948, to Max and Alta McClellan. He grew up in Bellingham, went to Bellingham High School, and went on to serve his country with honor during the Vietnam War.

Jerry’s dedication and bravery earned him several commendations, and he was proud to have served his country.

After returning home from the war, Jerry joined the family business at Hardware Sales, a small company that grew into a thriving business thanks to his tireless work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit. He was a brilliant businessman who always put his employees and customers first, and his legacy continues to live on today.

Jerry was a devoted father to his son Ty, Ty’s wife Tandie, bonus daughter Amy Mullen and a proud grandfather to his granddaughter Brookelyn, whom he loved more than anything in the world. Along with Ty, Tandie, Amy and Brookelyn, Jerry is survived by his sister LaDonna George, girlfriend Sherry Young along with her children Michelle, Butch, and Melinda. He always made time for his family, and cherished every moment spent with them.

Jerry is preceded in death by his lovely wife Kristie, brother-in-law Clayton George, and best friend Del Cochran. Jerry and Kristie shared many wonderful memories traveling the west coast in their motorhome, exploring new places and making lasting friendships. They loved spending time feeding their beautiful koi fish, which brought them both great joy and peace. They also loved spending time in their winter home in Thousand Palms, California.

One of their favorite places to visit was their summer home in Big Lake, where they enjoyed the tranquility of the outdoors and the beauty of nature. Jerry and Kristie shared a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures in life and cherished every moment they spent together for 50 wonderful years.

In his free time, Jerry loved nothing more than driving his cars and harley-davidson. He was an avid car enthusiast who had a passion for speed and style, and his collection of classic cars was truly impressive. He was also an avid fan of jet skis, fishing, fires by the lake, listening to music, Harley Davidsons, his pomeranians, and traveling in his RV. He always made time for the things he loved and lived life to the fullest.

Jerry was a kind and compassionate man who touched the lives of everyone he met. He had a heart of gold and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. His intelligence, hard work, and integrity made him a respected member of his community, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Jerry’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and the countless people whose lives he touched. We will always remember him as a loving husband and father, devoted grandfather, and a true American hero.

Rest in peace, Jerry. “HOOAH!”
