Obituary

Janet “Jan” J. Cooper, age 79, of Deming, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2020. Jan was born on February 21, 1940 in Bellingham, to Elder and Rose Roberts. She married William Cooper on January 24, 1962. Jan was active in cultural activities. She is survived by her husband William; sisters Rozelda Roberts, Char Roberts and Sandra Joseph; brother Elder “Smokey” Roberts and sons Tony Johnny, Kenny Johnny, Douglas Cooper, Rob Cooper, Ron Cooper, Alex Cooper and Frank Cooper and numerous grandchildren and nieces and nephew.  Jan is preceded in death by her parents Bill and Rose Roberts; father and mother-in-law Bob and Verle Cooper; paternal grandparents Johnny and Elizabeth Roberts; maternal grandparents Alec and Martha Joe; sons Russell Cooper, Rodney Cooper and baby Cooper; grandson Andrew Cooper; brothers Maynard Roberts, Roy Roberts, John Roberts, Bud Roberts; sister baby Roberts; brother-in-law Phil Hunter.

A prayer service will be held on Friday, February 7, at 6:00pm. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 8, at 10:00am. Both services will be held at the Nooksack Community Building.
