Obituary
Janece Allen Krein went home to be with her Lord on Friday, April 29, 2022.
Janece was born September 3, 1926, in Macon, Missouri to Avery and Myrtle Allen and moved to Bellingham in 1937. She graduated from Bellingham High School in 1945, then attended UPS in Tacoma and WWSC as a music major.
She directed the McKinley Park Christian Church choir and played her trombone in the Tacoma Symphony Orchestra. She also played in the Salvation Army Band, Whatcom Junior High School Band, Bellingham Symphonic Band, and the Bellingham Alumni Band. She sang in church choirs and was guest trombonist in many churches, to the glory of God. She also worked as a salesclerk at J.C. Penney for over 15 years.
Janece married Fred P. Fuchs on November 30, 1946, and they had two children: Sharon Fuchs Parr and Paul F. Fuchs. Both predeceased her. Following Fred’s death in 1970, Janece established Janece’s Custom Baking in her home for 6 ½ years, making over 1000 wedding cakes and many birthday cakes.
On June 18, 1977, she married Wilbur E. Krein, and they enjoyed 20 wonderful years together until his passing in 1997. Janece is survived by stepdaughter Gloria Krein Moldvr, grandchildren Sonda Swanberg, Marcus Collins, and Paulie Florindo, six great-grandchildren, one niece and one nephew.
As Janece wrote: “A wonderful life, yes, but nothing compared to playing in Heaven’s Band and singing in Heaven’s Choir, praising my God for all eternity! Come, I’ll be waiting for YOU!”
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday May 10, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Greenacres Memorial Park in Ferndale, WA.

Janice was a wonderful trombone player and a friend to me in our years together in the BHS Alumni Band. I will remember her kind heart, her joyous laughter, and her love for Jesus.

Janece was a sweet neighbor of ours for several years. She loved anything music and was a terrific trombone player. We will miss you Janece, but look forward to seeing you again! I’m sure you are already playing in the band! I’m also so glad that she had Al to look out for her in the past several years.
