Obituary

Jane Houser, born August 21, 1932 , in Bellingham, Washington, to Peter and Marie Acalin, left this world peacefully in her sleep on January 23, 2024. Her departure leaves behind cherished memories of a life lived with boundless energy, love, care, and an ever-present radiant smile.

Jane’s journey began in Bellingham, where she attended Bellingham High School, graduating in 1950. Throughout her life, she exuded a zest for adventure, finding joy in road trips, whale watching, and the magic of dancing, especially at Coconut Grove, where she danced with her beloved Milton. She would often watch the bustling crowd while eagerly awaiting Milton’s return from business, savoring the moments of togetherness.

A pillar of her community, Jane found fulfillment in maintaining her rental properties, earning the gratitude of local students not just for providing homes but also for her dedicated service as the secretary of the Rental Association in Bellingham. However, her most treasured role was that of a homemaker, where her meticulous organization and unwavering work ethic shone brightest. Jane’s nurturing spirit made her the epitome of maternal love, providing unwavering support and care to her family.

Jane is survived by her son, Michael L Houser, her sister-in-law Norma Acalin, niece Janelle Rehberg, and nephews Steven Acalin and Kevin O’Conner. She now reunites with her daughter Lisa Louise Houser, ex-husband Milton Edward Houser, and her brother Peter E. Acalin, who await her with open arms in the realm beyond.

In the hearts of those who knew her, Jane’s memory will endure as a beacon of love, kindness, and grace. Her legacy of warmth and compassion will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to be touched by her presence. As we bid farewell to a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and friend, may we find solace in the beautiful tapestry of memories she leaves behind. Rest in peace, dear Jane, your light will forever shine bright in our hearts.

A Funeral service will be held at Moles Farewell Tributes – Bayview Chapel in Bellingham, WA.  on Monday February 5^th at 2:00PM
