Obituary

“Culaxten” James Henry Wilson

Culaxten, James Henry Wilson, age 87, was born to Margaret and Clarence Henry Wilson September 20, 1925. He was born on the shores of Village Point.
His journey to the other side began in the morning of October 25, 2012. With his daughter by his side reading him scriptures from the bible, he was in his own home at Lummi.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta Hunt Wilson; mother Margaret Solomon; father Clarence Wilson; step father August Casmir; son James Wilson Jr.; grandsons, David Wilson, Jr., Derek Wilson Jr., and Brock Wilson; brothers, Rudy, Alvin, Gary, and Mike; and sisters, Lila, Florence, Mary, and Violet.

He is survived by his brother Gordon and sister in-law Helen Wilson of Lummi; 5 daughters and 3 sons: Deborah and Charles, Laurie and Thomas, Cynthia and Norb, Dana and Raquel, David and Anna, Heather and Richard, Althea and Steve. He was blessed with 76 grandchildren. He was greatly loved by the youngest to the oldest. James had many friends that he considered his own children and part of his family and many loved ones that had constantly checked on him daily. He loved the visits and talks on the phone.

Farewell Tribute Information

A prayer service will be held Sunday, October 28, at 6:00 PM. Funeral services will be Monday, October 29, at 10:00 AM. Both services will be at the Wexliem Community Building. His final resting place will be at the Lummi Nation Cemetery.

    Please accept my sympathy to the loving Family & Friends in the painful loss of your dear Culaxten. He was so loved by all who knew him & will be sorely missed.May I offer the Bible Verses that follow in an effort to give you a measure of hope,comfort & peace at this difficult time Rev21:4-5 “AND HE WILL WIPE OUT EVERY TEAR FROM THEIR EYES AND DEATH WILL BE NO MORE,THE FORMER THINGS HAVE PASSED AWAY.”

  4. WE SORRY TO HEAR OF YOUR LOSS. JIM WAS A VERY NICE MAN AND ALWAYS FRIENDLY , HE WAS VERY HELPFUL WHEN I WAS LOOKING FOR MY BROTHER TOMMY. JIM WOULD MAKE SURE TOMMY WOULD LET ME KNOW HE WAS OK. I WILL MISS HEARING JIMS VOICE ON THE PHONE. WE ARE SADDEN BY YOUR LOST .
