Obituary
James “Jim” C. Aregger passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2022, in Bellingham at the age of 93.
Jim was born September 16, 1929, to Charles “Jim” and Mary Aregger in Quincy, California. He served in the Marines for four years before moving to Washington and meeting his beloved wife, Marion Howell. Together they had a son Mike, and two daughters, Lani and Fawn.
Jim worked in construction for forty years and owned his own construction business. He loved traveling, camping in his R. V., making crafts, tinkering in his shop, and spending time with his family. He was very good at capturing memories with pictures and videos.
He was loving, supportive, caring, sentimental, particular, animated, a jack of all trades, crafty, hardworking, compassionate and a good listener. He will be remembered for his handmade gifts, taking his grandchildren to Cannon Beach, the way he would light up whenever he would see his family, and the great love he had for them.
Jim is proceeded in death by his wife Marion, son Mike Aregger, daughter Lani Stensgaard, parents Mary and Jim Aregger, brothers Jack and Dick Arreger, sisters Regina “Sugar” Hiatt and Lorraine Crapser and many other friends and family members he has lost along the way.
He is survived by his daughter Fawn Hershey (Dave), granddaughters Jennifer Knutson (Elliott), Lindsey Hurley (Keith), Erika Kamke (Chad), and Michelle Stensgaard (Ryan), sister Bernice Pottle (Roy), sister-in-law Carol Arreger and brother-in-law Gordon Howell (Connie), six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jim:
I can’t thank you enough for everything you did for me. Your kind guidance, wisdom, and mentorship will forever be etched in my mind. The countless memories we shared together are and always will be kept in my heart forever. Our love for science fiction movies and standing in line in the rain waiting to see the original Star Wars Movie. The countless Football games went together to especially Monday Night Football . Having a few cold ones together at the Village and Pogos. Barbecuing salmon and talking about life, family, and what lies ahead. I’m going to miss those times but the memories won’t be forgotten.
So Jim as your journey to be with Jesus is complete know that I loved you like a Father and Damn I’m going to miss you!
Rest In Peace and I know you’ll be watching over me. Thanks again for everything you did for me.
Much Love
Bob Knutson
Those we love don’t walk away,
they walk beside us every day.
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed
And very near.
