Obituary
Bellingham, Washington – With much sadness, James Andrew Quinlan passed away April 23, 2022.
Jim was born January 7, 1973, in Long Beach, California. Jim graduated from Point Loma High School in San Diego, CA, and went on to later study at National University where he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. Jim served his country as a Border Patrol Agent, joining the United States Border Patrol in 1996, and was still serving upon his death.
Jim married the love of his life, Alma, in 2002. Jim’s deepest love, next to Alma, his daughter Calla, and his son Jimmy, was fishing. Nothing made him happier than being on his boat catching fish, crabbing, and spending that time on the boat with his family and his friends. Jim also had a deep passion for his San Diego Chargers. He was one of the kindest, most giving people to ever walk this earth, and was loved immensely by all that crossed his path. He thought of others before himself and would give you the shirt off his back.
Jim is survived by his wife, Alma; daughter, Calla; son, James Jr.; brother, Jack; and parents, Jack and Laura Quinlan.
A celebration of his life is scheduled for Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at 12:00pm at Moles Farewell Tributes, 2465 Lakeway Dr. Bellingham, WA 98229. Visitation will also take place at Moles Farewell Tributes on May 3, 2022, from 1-3pm.

I knew Jim through JROTC. I joined JROTC because of a fleeting, schoolgirl, crush for the tall, reserved boy I saw walking across campus in uniform. The crush was short-lived, as school crushes often are, but when JROTC classes started, and I actually met Jim, I developed a deep respect for him. I will remember Jim as thoughtful, ethical, intelligent, and kind; a man that loved sharing proud updates about his beloved wife and children.

Jim and I were in the same NJROTC classes all through high school. Jim was a funny, well mannered, nice, and helpful friend. I am very sorry to hear of his passing. He made the world a bit brighter.
