Obituary

Jalyssa was born September 14, 1993 to Jacqueline “Jackie” Julius and Kaare Young. She grew up mostly on the Nooksack reservation in 5 cedars at her grandma “Blue Doors” or with her Lummi family: grandma and aunties. Her final residence was on the Lummi reservation with her mate “Poggy” Paul Scott Jr.

She attended the Ferndale School District until her 9th grade and decided to pursue her GED at Northwest Indian College in 2009-10. She was a stay at home mom to her “pride and joys” her twins Adrian and Vannah. She enjoyed living freely, where life had no boundaries. She took life as it was dealt with a humble, kind, gentle and loving heart. She enjoyed her time playing at the river, sitting at the beach and watching her twins grow. She enjoyed writing, coloring, crocheting, creating picture collages and just hanging out. She had a talent of picking up traits quickly and easily. She craved and loved family.

She is survived by: her mate Paul Scott Jr.; parents: Kaare Young Sr. (Clara) and Jacqueline “Jackie” Julius; children: Adrian Phair, Vannah Phair, Shawn Scott and Jordan Scott; brothers: Jerell Young, Kahlao Young, Briydon Young, Nikalao Cunanan, Nicholas Cunanan and Kaare Young Jr.; sisters: Malia Young, Alina Billy, Jazmine Billy and Ausharay Young; aunts: Karen Billy (Daniel), Marie Charles (Jasper), Benita Julius-Tronson (Terri), Thomas Warbus Jr. (Cisca), Miranda Jefferson (Joe) and numerous “Youngs”; uncles: Allen Strube, John Julius Jr., Tony Olsen and numerous “Youngs”; grandma Lois Cadiente; grandpa Jim Young (Lynne); cousins: Janessa Strube (Alex) Terrance Strube, Terrell Strube (Sakara), Sir Charles, Tironne Charles, Shayne Charles, Greggory Charles, Jasper Charles Jr., Vincent Charles, Evin Charles, Bryson Rabang-Julius, Thomas Warbus IV, Tibirius Warbus, Saiya Warbus, Alfonso Billy Jr., Alyx Billy, Destiny Jefferson-James, Kayika Jefferson-James, Douglas Jefferson-James, Dominac Jefferson-James, Miranda Joe Jefferson-James, Joshua Olsen and Halton Olsen.
