Obituary

Jack passed away on May 28, 2017 after a long illness. He was born in Maywood, CA on December 18, 1943 to Jack and Lucille Darwin. He went into the Army at age 18. He later received his GED and became a long haul trucker for Jack Darwin Trucking Company. In November, 1975, Jack married the love of his life, Johanna De Groot, and they had five children.

Jack loved the outdoors; always taking walks in the woods with his family, fishing, and feeding the birds, raccoons, and squirrels. He will be remembered for his loving devotion to his family, long talks around the kitchen table, the stories he would tell about his past, and his frank, witty demeanor. Jack was strong, reliable, and determined. His children remember when he would take them for rides in the truck when they were younger and that he always had a smile and twinkle in his eye when he saw them.

Jack is predeceased by his mother and father; brothers, William and Robert Darwin; sister, Judy Dyer; and son, Michael Darwin.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Johanna; daughters, Michelle, Elissa, and Melissa Darwin; son, Billy Darwin; sister, Jack Lynn Darwin; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, all of whom he loved dearly; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial will be held on Wednesday, June 14th at 2:00pm at Moles Farewell Tributes Greenacres (5700 NW Dr.).
