Obituary

Irvin was born in Bellingham, WA to Henry and Gertrude (Howem) Halverson on Christmas Day, 1933, and passed away at Christian Healthcare Center in Lynden, WA on February 10, 2021.

After graduating from Mount Baker High School, Ike enlisted in the U.S. Army served as Specialist 3rd Class in Fort Ord, CA. In 1956, he was married to Gail Witchey at Immanuel Lutheran Church. They spend 65 wonderful years together and raised 4 children.

Ike enjoyed golfing, fishing, woodcarving, and participating in church activities. He sang in the choir at Immanuel Lutheran, where he was a longtime member, as well as the Norwegian Male Chorus.

Preceding Ike in death are his parents, sisters Verona Grunhurd and Joanne Tucker, and son Brad Halverson.

Survivors include his wife Gail, sons Bruce, Brian, and Brent Halverson, eleven grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Christian Healthcare Center (855 Aaron Dr, Lynden, WA 98264) or to Immanuel Lutheran Church (5782 Lawrence Rd, Everson, WA 98247).
