Obituary

Irene Alpha Spady of Bellingham, Washington, passed away on March 10, 2017. She was 82 years old.
Irene was born in Viola, Idaho on January 16, 1935 to Edna and William Schultz and spent most of her early life in Salem, Oregon. Irene was married to Donald H. Graves for 23 years and had 3 wonderful sons.
In 1977, she met the love of her life, Dr. Kenneth Spady of Bellingham through an introduction by mutual friends. They enjoyed 40 beautiful years together.
She is survived by her husband Ken; three sons Tim Graves, Greg Graves (daughter in-law Becky), and David Graves; two grandsons William and Joseph Graves; one step-son Dr. Steve Spady (step-daughter-in-law Angie); one step-daughter Susan Hoffman, and five step-grandchildren: Adam Hoffman, Ryan Hoffman, Tyler Spady, Meghan Spady and Tara Field.
Irene was an accomplished pianist and organist who used her talents generously in a church setting.
She is remembered by all for her winning smile. She was a wonderful wife and mother, who was loved dearly and will be missed by so many.

  2. Irene will be greatly missed by all. She could light up a room with her smile and laugh and her great sense of humor. She never knew a stranger and made all feel like they were old friends. I pray that her family will be blessed by their good memories and all of those that loved her!

  3. Irene could brighten a room just by being in it. She had a wonderful smile and a very caring spirit. She was a wonderful friend and cousin, and will be so greatly missed by so many.
