Obituary

Inez V. Van Buren

Inez V. Van Buren passed away peacefully on Monday, November 12, 2012, in Bellingham, Washington. She was born April 11, 1922 on the family homestead in the log cabin that was used for the first school house on Pt. Agassiz, Alaska. Inez was born a twin, her brother Wilfred died at birth and was buried mile from their home under a tree. The cross is there to this day.

Inez graduated from the Petersburg schools and went on to the University of Washington. During summer break she returned home and worked in the Petersburg fisheries. It was here that Inez met her wonderful husband Russell and they were married in Bellingham on January 16, 1942. She always felt so fortunate to have been able to spend the balance of her life in Whatcom County, enjoying the great Western out of doors.

Inezs faith was always an extremely important part of who she was. At a young age, her mother taught her how important it was to realize our body is the Holy Temple of God. How we should take care of ourselves and not abuse our bodies, for he lives within us. Faith was foremost in Inezs life and the past 20 years she attended Grace Baptist Church in Lynden, Washington.

Inez received much of her pleasure with painting in oil and water colors and, the making of many cards of fellowship and love. She also enjoyed the growing of flowers and especially roses.

Inez was preceded in death, by her daughter, Dianne Van Buren and her devoted husband Russell K. Van Buren, mother and father, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters.

She is survived by son Russell C. (Penny) Van Buren, Bellingham, Wash; and grandchildren, Kris, Naples, Florida; Kevin (Kelli), Milton, Wash; Katie Van Buren, Woodinville, Wash; and Jeralyn (George) Conard, Glenhaven, Wash; and great-grandson David Conard and new great-granddaughter, Hanna Marie Van Buren.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Emeritus for all the care and love they showed mother this past year. Also Hospice for her care this past week. She loved the prayers and songs the Chaplin shared with her.

Many years ago, when I went to Grace Baptist Church, I knew Inez and her husband Russ. They helped me to learn about the wonderful Grace of God.
Many are their rewards in Heaven!

God Bless your family as you adjust to the temporary parting of such a wonderful woman of God, her light did shine!
