Obituary

Ida Louise Johnson, age 86, passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2012 in Bellingham. She was born October 10, 1925 in Eureka Township, Ward County, North Dakota to John Carl and Eva (Bowen) Lade.

She married naval aviator, Jim Andrew Johnson and they left North Dakota in 1963 with their children to live in Fort St. John, BC on a farm and Ida began working for Simpson-Sears. In the early 70s, they moved to Abbotsford, BC where Ida continued working for Sears. Later they moved to White Rock and Ida opened her home and heart as a foster mother. In the late 70s, they moved to Birch Bay, WA where they built a home together. During this time, Ida was a bookkeeper for Pt. Roberts gas station.

In 1998, Ida moved to Blaine and was very active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Blaine. She loved the Lord and made sure that all her children and grandchildren were baptized. At her apartment complex in Blaine, she became the go to person and helped everyone when needed. She was a very caring person and a friend to many.

3 years ago, Ida moved into Orchard Park Assisted Living. She tended a beautiful garden, and became good friends with both the residents and staff.

Ida was an excellent bowler and an avid crossword puzzle fan. She enjoyed playing the card game skip-bo, watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune and loved her gardens.

Ida was preceded in death by her 3 sisters and 4 brothers; and special friend Virgil York.

She is survived by her 5 children, Judith and her husband Byron, James and his wife Mitzi, Vicki, whose husband John died in 2007, Jerry and his wife Frances and Kevin and his wife Shirley; 11 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren, nephew (like a son) Rick and his wife Carolyn; numerous nieces and nephews, Esther Carlson, many relatives, and good friends Judy Walker, Millie and Rose Hetman. She loved being a Mom to so many. Ida was loved dearly by her family and friends, and she will be missed by all who knew her

The family is grateful to the staff at Orchard Park Assisted Living, for the loving care they provided.

  1. I was so sorry to read of Ida’s death in the Minot paper today. We were in grade school together in Eureka township northwest of Minot and we have kept in touch somewhat over the years. I called her about a year ago and we had a nice visit. She was a wonderful friend to me and I send my deepest sympathy to all of her family.

  4. I have fond memories of Ida and Jim, easpecially during my “growing up” years. I remember summers at the farm and gathering together on holidays. I will miss Ida. The last time we were together she made a special point of sharing her faith life with me. She now lives in the promise of Christ.

If you need for that perfect slice of gear which will go above and beyond the fear with suit your prefers a long time, Burberry is often a suitable final choice . For that reason your best bet is usually to try sizes the two over as well as down below how you feel your own sneaker size is . O
