Obituary

On December 9, 2021 the world lost the most amazing man and soul, Hugh G. Locker.

90 years on this Earth Hugh gave all his heart to his family and those around him. For 65 of those years, he loved, raised, and nurtured a beautiful family with Barbara Locker. There’s so much family, we can’t keep count anymore and more come every year. Every game, every event we knew you’d be there to support us, and we’d always hear your voice from the stands. From a young age you taught us about manners, elbows off the table, yes please and no thank you. Through example you taught us how to love. What it meant to work hard and earn something. You were the toughest man in our lives, but you didn’t let that strength overshadow the importance of having a soft side. You are the foundation for all that we are. Your words and lessons will live on through generations of this family and you will continue to teach us lessons and we will pass those on.

We love you Gramps and will miss the heck out of you.

We would like to thank Hospice for their excellent care, nurse Chelsey, bath aid Lauren, and Home Instead care givers Shannon and Nolan. You are so appreciated by us all.

  1. My family thought so highly of Hugh like everyone else in the county. My dad, Moose, always called him the leader of the pack! I was lucky enough to get to know them since I boarded the best dog, Mandy Locker! My prayers are with you.

  2. Linda Miles says:

My thoughts & prayers are with Hughes family at this difficult time. Have great memories of Hugh & Barb getting to know them at their grandkids sporting games. May your Faith, Family, Friends & Many Happy memories help you in the days to come. Take care, I care.

  3. There will never be another Hugh Locker. The legacy he created serves him well & the Locker name will live on for many years to come. Thanks to Hugh for everything he has done for our community. We are better because of Hugh.

  4. Jim Smits says:

I knew Hugh for about 40 years. He served well on the Ferndale School Board. He was a straight shooter and always enjoyable to work around in the Lignin plant at G.P. I don’t know anyone who didn’t like him.
I’ll always have a soft spot in my heart and fond memories of this teddy bear who set so many fine examples.

  5. To the Locker Family,
Mom sent this notice to me, and my heart goes out to you all.
The amazing amount of love and strength Hugh lived by and provided to his family is truly his legacy.
Stand strong and carry on that legacy,
    Love to you,
    Lisa Bennett Anderson
