Howard B. Breskin

Born in the Bronx, New York. Died at home at The Willows in Bellingham. Howard is survived by his wife of 68 years, Maryann W. Breskin, and children, Joe, Kitty (Jason Sheckley) and Flip Breskin (Zeke Hoskin), grandchildren Jon and Nathan Auer (Stacey), and great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Conor, Lucy, and Henry Auer, and east coast nieces and nephews.

Howard was active as an attorney in the Seattle area for 52 years before moving to Bellingham in 2005. Some of his favorite pro bono activities included work with the following organizations: Des Moines Volunteer Fire Department, Mercer Island Recreation Council, Overlake Hospital Board, Council of Planning Affiliates, Temple Beth Am, Seattle Youth Symphony, NW Regional Health Care Authority, NW Indian Health Board, Seattle-King County Equal Opportunity Board, Human Subjects Review Board for Group Health Cooperative of Puget Sound and the UW School of Social Work Advisory Committee. He also made time to earn our living, and take his family sailing and camping.

A celebration of his life will be observed at The Willows in Bellingham at 1:30 -3:00 on July 29th. No services will be held, at his request. Donations in his honor may be made to UW School Of Social Work, or Group Health Co-op.
